दिल्ली कैपिटल्स ने IPL 2024 के 40वें मैच में गुजरात टाइटंस को 4 रन से हराया। दिल्ली के अरुण जेटली स्टेडियम में बुधवार को गुजरात ने टॉस जीतकर गेंदबाजी चुनी। दिल्ली ने 20 ओवर में 4 विकेट पर 224 रन बनाए। जवाब में गुजरात 20 ओवर में 8 विकेट पर 220 रन ही बना सकी।
DC के कप्तान ऋषभ पंत ने 43 बॉल पर 88 रन बनाए। उन्होंने 5 चौके और 8 छक्के जमाए। इसमें से एक धोनी के अंदाज में हेलिकॉप्टर शॉट के रूप में निकला। वहीं, पंत ने मोहित शर्मा को लगाता तीन सिक्स भी लगाए।
नूर अहमद ने डाइविंग कैच लेकर पृथ्वी शॉ को पवेलियन का रास्ता दिखाया, इस कारण मैच में विवाद खड़ा हो गया। घटना दिल्ली की इनिंग्स के चौथे ओवर में घटी जब संदीप वॉरियर ने शॉर्ट लेंथ डिलीवरी फेंकी, जिसे शॉ ने डीप स्क्वायर लेग की ओर खेला। वहां फील्डिंग कर रहे नूर अहमद ने सामने की ओर डाइव लगाई और गेंद को जमीन से कुछ इंच ऊपर कैच पूरा किया। ऐसा लग रहा था कि कैच लेते समय बॉल ने ग्राउंड को छुआ है।
ऑन-फील्ड अंपायर ने इसे थर्ड अंपायर की ओर रेफर कर दिया, लेकिन रीप्ले से पता चला कि कैच फील्डर ने सफाई से लिया था। बड़ा स्कोर बनाने का मौका चूक जाने के कारण निराश शॉ को वापस लौटना पड़ा।
